The Science Behind Microneedling and PRP Therapy

Microneedling and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy merge cutting-edge science for transformative skin rejuvenation. Microneedling triggers controlled micro-injuries, activating the skin's natural healing process and fostering collagen and elastin production. Meanwhile, PRP utilizes growth factors from your own blood to accelerate tissue repair and stimulate collagen synthesis. Combined, they create a dynamic synergy, amplifying skin renewal for a smoother, youthful complexion.

How Microneedling and PRP Therapy Work: Rejuvenating Your Skin Naturally

Microneedling: Boosting Collagen with Precision

At Pure Aesthetix, Microneedling involves the use of fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin's surface. This process stimulates collagen and elastin production, rejuvenating the skin's texture and reducing imperfections. Our expert practitioners ensure precision and care during the treatment, leading to a smoother, firmer, and more youthful complexion.

PRP Therapy: Harnessing Your Body's Healing Power

At Pure Aesthetix, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy utilizes your body's own growth factors to promote skin rejuvenation. We draw a small amount of your blood, process it to concentrate the platelets, and then apply this enriched plasma to the treated area. The growth factors in PRP stimulate collagen synthesis and cellular renewal, enhancing the results of other treatments and leaving you with refreshed and revitalized skin.

Is Microneedling and PRP Therapy Right for You?

Microneedling and PRP therapy are two popular skin rejuvenation treatments that can help to improve the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, and other skin concerns. At Pure Aesthetix, we offer both of these treatments in a safe and comfortable setting.

Here are some factors to consider when determining if microneedling and PRP therapy are right for you at Pure Aesthetix:

  • Your skin type: Microneedling and PRP therapy are generally safe for all skin types, but they may be more effective for people with fair skin.
  • Your skin concerns: Microneedling and PRP therapy can help to improve a variety of skin concerns, but they may be more effective for some concerns than others. For example, microneedling may be more effective for acne scars, while PRP therapy may be more effective for wrinkles.
  • Your medical history: If you have any underlying health conditions, such as a bleeding disorder or a history of skin cancer, you should talk to your doctor before getting microneedling or PRP therapy.
  • Your expectations: Microneedling and PRP therapy can produce significant results, but it is important to have realistic expectations. These treatments are not a miracle cure, and they may not completely eliminate your skin concerns.

If you are considering microneedling and PRP therapy at Pure Aesthetix, we recommend that you schedule a consultation with one of our experienced aestheticians. They will be able to assess your skin concerns and recommend the best treatment plan for you.

What does Microneedling and Intense Pulsated Light (IPL) do for you?

Both procedures rejuvenates the skin by creating minor injury to the mid to upper layers of the skin. This injury triggers your body’s wound healing processes and more importantly promotes collagen growth.

What is the difference between Microneedling and IPL?

Microneedling treats the overall texture and appearance of your skin while IPL focuses on skin imperfections, lightening, removing sun spots or age spots, and unwanted hair removal. Both of these procedures work separately or in conjunction to achieve skin rejuvenation.

MICRONEEDLING

  • How does microneedling work?

Microneedling uses fine needles to create micropunctures to the skin. This injury releases cytokines, including growth factors to heal.

Cytokines are signaling proteins that stimulate cell growth, survival differentiation, inflammation and more importantly tissue repair.

  • What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)? and what are the benefits?

Adding Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) to microneedling has important growth factors to increase the rate of healing, promoting collagen production, and other proteins that support the skin.

This is done by drawing blood from your arm, separating platelets then applying them into the recently microneedled areas on your face.
